The Reason He Won
I've come to fear the thing I most crave
The rest I so desperately hate to need
It's once comfort can no longer save
The hopeless desires off which I now feed
I lie awake endless night after night
Too scared to face the terror sleep brings
Whilst inside me the eternal fight
Bears down upon my ears where pain still rings
And in giving up hope each day I grow weak
But when I ask myself what there is to fear
The answer seems too horrid to speak
For wherever I may be he can always find me here…

When you said "forever"
Did you mean "till the end"
Because this is the end
And I hope-
That when I close my eyes tonight-
You're not the one I dream about anymore.
Drowned At 35
They closed our coffins long before we passed,
And buried all our once great hopes and dreams.
Thwarted by the unjust judgment they had cast,
We held the bursting anger at our seams.
The unmarked graves remind us of our worth,
And our stories now promised to go untold.
We find our souls have no time left for mirth,
Till they can expel the secrets that they hold.
Less Than Mundane
In the chaos, silent prayers are heard,
Drifting slowly from mumbling mouths and lowered eyes.
Hopes of ignorance and turning heads, quick to judge,
Fill the once empty space in which they reflected
Upon the endless books that line their shelves.
Secrets untold and stories unfinished,
Waiting to be released from their frenzied minds.
They sit discontented with their less than mundane lives.
They can feel it out there waiting for them,
The beginning of the journey they thought ended so long ago.
